Tyresure features in April NTDA Service Bulletin

29-04-2024

Designed and engineered to meet the direct needs of the tyre servicing industry, Tyresure’s TPMS sensors and diagnostic tools have been fully integrated into the fitting processes of some of UK’s largest wheel assembly businesses, enabling them to reduce costs and training time, and improve workshop efficiency.

From our pioneering NFC sensors that allow for superfast, accurate sensor configuration with just a tap and our app, to our range of configurable and programmable universal sensors, aftermarket sensors, and our new EU-Pro Truck 1.0 sensors for heavy-duty commercial vehicles, Tyresure’s TPMS products help keep drivers safe, increase fuel efficiency, and improve the lifespan of tyres. Here we take a look at some of the latest developments in TPMS technologies and how Tyresure has created solutions to meet the needs of our customers in answer to these developments.

Bluetooth Low Energy Sensors

The sudden rise in the popularity of Electric Vehicles (EVs) has seen demand for compatible Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) aftermarket TPMS sensors soar as more garages and workshops encounter Tesla vehicles requiring tyre and TPMS maintenance.

With the number of Tesla vehicles on the road increasing, a suitable aftermarket replacement for Tesla’s Sysgration TPMS sensors would soon be required, and Tyresure’s solution for replacement BLE sensors was to develop the first cost-effective aftermarket or OE-R sensor to utilise Bluetooth technology, the T-Pro Hybrid BLE.

Tyresure’s T-Pro Hybrid BLE sensors come preprogrammed with sensor protocols for Tesla Models S, 3, X and Y, meaning workshop or tyre bay technicians can install them without programming the sensors with a TPMS diagnostic tool. T-Pro Hybrid BLE sensor are available in three valve stem options, with your choice between black, graphite, and silver metal Clamp-In stems designed to complement the finish of Tesla alloy wheels.

HD Commercial Vehicle Sensors

From July 2024, an operational TPMS system is mandatory for all new EU commercial vehicle registrations in categories M1, M2, M3, N1, N2, N3, O3, O4, and Tyresure has introduced EU-Pro Truck 1.0 TPMS sensors into its range to meet the needs of heavy-duty commercial vehicle operators across the UK and EU.

The EU-Pro Truck 1.0 sensor is a new aftermarket or OE-R universal programmable TPMS sensor that provides a cost-effective solution to replacing heavy-duty vehicle Original Equipment (OE) sensors, and is designed to fit seamlessly into existing truck, bus or trailers’ tyre changing and maintenance procedures.

EU-Pro Truck 1.0 TPMS sensors are compatible with Hamaton’s H56 and H57 diagnostic tools when combined with an OBDII truck upgrades and software subscription, and can also be used with ATEQ’s VT Truck 2.0, VT56 and VT57 diagnostic tools, giving you additional flexibility when maintaining or servicing your heavy-duty vehicle or fleet. EU-Pro Truck 1.0 TPMS sensors are fully programmable from our European database of trucks, trailers, and buses, with new programming protocols automatically added to the protocol database as they become available, future-proofing your sensors and maintenance processes.

Tyresure places great emphasis on producing the highest quality and most reliable TPMS sensors available, with our sensors being manufactured and independently tested on fully automated, environmentally controlled production lines. Like all Tyresure products, EU-Pro Truck 1.0 sensors are manufactured to the most exacting standards and are produced under controlled quality standards certified by TÜV SÜD for IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 to ensure product durability, lifespan, and quality. Covered by a 24 month or 100,000-kilometre warranty, the EU-Pro Truck 1.0 TPMS sensors transmit on the 433MHz frequency required for European trucks, buses, and trailer TPM systems, and features the latest generation of battery and NXP chip.

Near Field Communication Sensors

The introduction of Near Field Communication (NFC) enabled mobile devices provided the tyre industry with the opportunity to incorporate this technology into the existing processes for configuring and programming TPMS sensors. NFC TPMS sensors allow for almost instant signal transmission over a short distance, eliminating the risk of interference when configuring or programming other TPMS sensors in the vicinity, and ensures accuracy in the demands of a workshop setting. This one tap technology allows vehicle technicians and servicing staff to make major reductions in the time taken to maintain a fleet or vehicle, cutting fleet downtime and associated training and maintenance costs.

Tyresure’s T-Pro Hybrid NFC Sensor range allows wheel assemblers and service technicians to quickly and efficiently program sensors with reduced risk of interference, and while they can be configured and programmed with a wide range of TPMS diagnostic tools already on the market, they improve upon these existing technologies when combined with Tyresure's user-friendly app.

The free, dedicated, and easy-to-use app for both iOS and Android was developed inhouse in the UK and has been successfully exported to over 30 countries in Europe and North America. An updated, streamlined version of the app was launched in early 2023, and has proved so successful, we created branded versions for other TPMS distributors around the World including Tech Europe, Myers Industries and Prema. With no subscription fees or time-consuming manual updates, the Tyresure app is completely free to download and update, with the latest TPMS vehicle coverage automatically at your fingertips, future proofing TPMS sensor inventory.

Tyresure TPMS Training

Tyresure offer the UK’s only IMI accredited TPMS training programme designed to provide wheel and tyre retailers, MOT bays, workshops, and service centre technicians with the practical and theoretical training required to understand and diagnose TPMS problems.

Held in full-day sessions within small groups at our Head Office in Leicestershire, our IMI accredited courses are priced at £295 per person (including complimentary lunch), and training participants will gain comprehensive, hands-on, best practice experience of fitting, removing, and re-programming both OE and aftermarket TPMS sensors, and how to service valves in a workshop environment. Attendees will also learn how to use TPMS diagnostic and workshop tools to perform vehicle relearn procedures and efficiently manage and maintain TPMS for vehicles and fleets.

Another feature of Tyresure’s IMI training sessions is learning how to increase profits by offering customers TPMS maintenance, and how the technology can help your business earn extra profits from parts sales and tyre service work such as mounting new tires, changing rims, replacing damaged sensors, or sensor battery failure.

Tyresure also offer unaccredited half-day TPMS training courses designed to help staff to feel more confident dealing with TPMS in Sales and Workshop environments.

For sales personnel, Tyresure's TPMS Sales Support course introduces TPMS and offers advice for how best to present commercial opportunities to customers. Course attendees will gain an insight into the technical side of TPMS while also learning the benefits and unique selling points, with tips for effectively increasing sales.

Tyresure's Workshop Support course is designed for garage, workshop, and tyre bay staff handling TPMS sensors in a workshop environment. This course covers the basics of TPMS, but also includes hands on, practical training to give attendees the confidence to deal with vehicles and their owners.

Both TPMS Sales Support and Workshop Support training sessions are held in half day sessions priced at £99 per person, with refreshments provided. For further information about Tyresure’s TPMS training courses, please email training@tyresure.com or call us on 0116 200 1020.
